Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a qualified pool lifeguard. 

How long will it take?

The total qualification time for this qualification is 50 hours, of which 40 hours are recommended as guided learning hours.

Topics covered

These include the requirements for health and safety in a swimming pool environment, how to prepare a swimming pool environment, supervising a swimming pool environment, responding to pool emergencies, maintain the safety of the swimming pool environment and respond to emergency situations in a swimming pool.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by an open response workbook and a practical assessment.
